Interior Designs Trending in 2023
This year we will see some of what has been so popular the past several years in interior design ushered out and new styles welcomed in! Gone are the days of all gray tones and farmhouse white. If you still have some of these and aren’t ready to do a full makeover it will be easy enough to pull in pops of bold color with pillows, throws, rugs and window coverings.
BOLD
The word of the year is BOLD! Bold color, bold patterns, bold tile work, bold accent walls, you get the point! If you are not quite ready to commit to something like an entire room painted in Viva Magenta, Pantone’s® color of the year, start small. Paint one small piece of furniture in a color that you love, recover a pillow or an accent chair in a lovely, bold nature pattern or simply hang a colorful piece of art and go from there. Always chose things that you love and you won’t go wrong! Another easy way to add in color, without the commitment, is decor pieces painted in your color of choice. Super simple!
The Trend Continues
Not only is color the BOLD choice of the year, kitchen counters are moving from white and gray to natural stone with more color and movement. Running a slab of natural stone up the wall in place of tile is also on trend. Continuing the countertop slab up the wall or opting for a contrasting stone on the wall slab, either way the trend is BOLD!
Move Over Minimalism
In the 2010’s the trend was minimalistic design with clean lines and pared-down décor. Move over minimalism- warm, curvy, colorful and nature inspired design has found it’s way into our homes. Anything from mixed wood tones and cozy color choices to rounded, tufted and textural furniture pieces are making us feel at home in our homes. We are spending more time in our homes in recent years, for this reason we are seeing the shift from cool and clean to warm and cozy.
There is never the need to jump in headfirst and regret it down the road. If it makes sense to you and you love it, go for it! There are always options for small changes that don’t feel so permanent. Have fun with it and make it your own!
